“I’ve nearly a thousand years worth of existence to contemplate. Thoughts, ideas, feelings, experience—my life is one of solitude, and meditation is an outlet.”

“Huh, must’ve been at it for a while.”

“A few hours or so, yes.”

Two Faces of Justice ▪ Sam & Samara

jetstreamxsam:

Each shot got more desperate than the last, and each shot was as useless as the next. How many bullets could he rack up before accepting the truth? It was all too amusing for the swordsman as he simply flicked each shot aside with his sword. It’d almost seem inhuman hadn’t it been for the suit he dons. But once the proximity closed between the pair, the defense was quick to change as he used a more extensive roll of the wrist and eased his blade through the gun like a knife through butter; he cut the gun’s barrel clean off. Now his target fell with his back against the wall, tears streaming and a stutter like none other. “P-please… don’t k-kill me!… I c-can pay you d-double, triple even!

The offer stopped the mercenary in his tracks. No, he wasn’t piqued by the chance of doubling the benefits, as a matter of fact, money held little interest to him. On the contrary, this plead and bribery only fueled the flame. One would say he was annoyed and before committing what he was hired to do, Minuano held his sword in admiration as he said, “Working under a fool who uses his authority as an excuse to have men clean up his mess?” A twitch of the sword and the slant of his lids, Sam glared at the man and the action alone spelt trouble. They both knew it and in an even more desperate and pathetic act, the target almost leans up in order to scream some form of slander. But before his vocal cords could even be put to use, a crimson blade danced right through it. A diagonal swipe of the blade was the curtain call for this man’s meaningless life.

   A clean cut,
it didn’t even stain the blade

With his left hand, he grabs the custom scabbard and offers it to the sheathing blade. Leaning his arm across it shortly afterward, Sam would suddenly say aloud, “While I appreciate the spectating, you won’t fair any better if you intentions were to catch me off-guard.” A samurai knows his surroundings even if he’s new to them, and Sam knew his surroundings weren’t barren. Yes, it was after he had cleaved his target in two, may it have been from sound, smell or just his warrior instinct. Knowing so, the Brazilian turned around, his back facing the wall as he awaits the individual who plays incognito.

Ability-wise, it is an impressive display. It’s a thought that lingers, and unlike many extraterrestrials throughout the galaxy, the words “for a human” are not tacked on at the end. The belief that one alien race is greater than the others, she finds, is quite absurd. A very asari outlook, some might say; but it is clear even now, this man is certainly capable of taking on one of her peoples’ huntresses—and besting an asari commando is certainly no simple task.

Aubergine painted lips contort into a minuscule smirk, but the expression is short-lived. So he’d noticed her, then. Good.

Biotics pulse from gloved palms and the matriarch is sent flying from her perch above, an action possessing a great deal of finesse. Just moments later and heeled feet touch the floor, and shortly thereafter her body ceases to be sheathed within a biotic shield.
“You do not desire money because fighting pleases you,” a pithy response; she’s not asking, but making a statement, rather. This man’s lifespan thus far—she has lived it time and time again. She is closer to one thousand than five hundred at this point, and having been exposed to violence for much of her life she has grown extremely skilled at reading others.

Intro: “Our meeting here will not end in peace.”

Victory: “Above all else I must abide by the Code.”

See?” Assuring he remarks, “I‘d say the sky’s the limit, but you’re an example that the phrase is wrong.”

“Ah–I forget your unfamiliarity with extraterrestrials.”

image

“Perhaps the galaxy’s the limit, then. It seems we’ve yet to find ourselves outside of the Milky Way–the phrase can always be changed again when the time comes.”

  brisaquente-deactivated20140213 asked: Would you consider a taste of the Jetstream? {... XD}

      “No.”

jetstreamxsam:

And,” he adds, “soon enough, the shadow will decline. Sure, it’s not what you originally intended, but the way things are, I’ll gladly take a small shadow over what we’re in any day.”

      “…”

“Your point is a valid one–and I agree. Wholeheartedly.”

jetstreamxsam:

image

I wouldn’t build your hopes up. While that is a peachy thought, you no doubt are unfortunately aware that everything has a shadow.”

“I am well aware,” her tone is bitter, “but I will continue to do what I can.”

I imagine it comes with the job of dispensing justice.”

      “Injustice never seems to cease.”

“But it is my hope that perhaps, someday, it shall–and my struggle will not have been in vain.”
